The primary goal of the Senior Information and Assistance Center (SIAC) is to provide accurate information on the availability of services for older adults and their caregivers. Our professional staff is ready to help individuals and families develop comprehensive plans of action that help older adults achieve their long-term goals of maintaining independence.

The 2011-2012 Yellow Book: Senior Information and Assistance Directory ("Yellow Book"), published by the SIAC, offers information on over 700 services for older adults in El Paso, Park and Teller counties. In publication for over 25 years, the Yellow Book is available through the PPACG Area Agency on Aging, as well as at other distribution points in the community (such as senior centers and libraries). From adult day care and classes to transportation and visual impairments, older adults and their caregivers will find provider listings, descriptions of services, and contact information for hundreds of essential services.

Through a partnership with Pikes Peak United Way, the Area Agency on Aging has made accessing the SIAC that much easier. Older adults, their caregivers, and service providers can now call 2-1-1 (in addition to SIAC’s Senior Information Hotline at 719-471-2096) to access a complete, up-to-date database of community resources. Individuals can learn about low-cost nutritious meals, home-based care, transportation for medical appointments, insurance counseling, and affordable housing, among other valuable community resources.
