Welcome to PPACG’s headquarters for information regarding the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act — also known as the federal stimulus bill. On Feb. 17, 2009, President Barack Obama signed this legislation that was created to kick-start the national economy through investments in areas such as:

• Producing Clean and Efficient Energy in Colorado
• Investing in Science and Technology to Advance Colorado's Economy
• Modernizing our Roads, Bridges, Transit and Waterways
• Developing a 21st Century Education System
• Implementing Tax Cuts that Make Work Pay and Create Jobs
• Lowering Healthcare Costs
• Providing Assistance to Colorado Workers Hurt by the Economic Downturn
• Saving Public Sector Jobs and Protecting Vital Services for Coloradans

PPACG is closely following the implementation and discussions on the federal economic stimulus bill and their potential impacts on the Pikes Peak Region. This section of our website is designed for the community to be able to view general information about the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. We will continually be updating this section, so be sure to check back often.

Additional federal legislation may be enacted in 2010 to stimulate the economy by dedicating funds to be invested in the transportation infrastructure. The Colorado Department of Transportation has released this draft list of potential "Jobs for Main Street" projects in the Pikes Peak region.
