PPACG Area Agency on Aging offers Social Security 101
The Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments Area Agency on Aging and the Social Security Administration are partnering for the third year to present Social Security 101 classes. Classes take place throughout the year and are provided at no cost.
The educational presentation is for people approaching retirement age, adult children and interested people. This session will cover many of the common retirement questions including:
* Eligibility for retirement
* How age affects retirement benefit
* How work affects retirement benefit
* How non-covered pensions (PERA) can potentially affect your Retirement and Survivor benefits.
* Spousal benefits
* Children’s benefits
* Survivor benefits
* And a brief explanation of Medicare.
The 2019 Social Security 101 presentations are scheduled from 5:30-7:30 PM on February 26, April 2, and August 6, 2019. The class is free of charge and will be held at PPACG Area Agency on Aging, 14 South Chestnut Street, Colorado Springs. Class sizes are limited, call (719) 471-2096 to reserve your seat.
PPACG Area Agency on Aging counsels and educates on Medicare, health insurance, and empowers seniors to live independently. Our trained staff and volunteers provide educational presentations in the Pikes Peak region.
