March 2012: Housing Forum Maps
The following maps were used in the Fort Carson Regional Growth Plan Housing Forum on Friday, March 23, 2010.
The map “2010 Estimate of Colorado’s Veteran Population By County” was from the February 2012 Growth Plan Implementation Update – Appendix C: Maps.
The map “2010 Estimate of Colorado’s Veteran Population By County (As a Percentage of the 18 Year Old and Older Population)” was from the February 2012 Growth Plan Implementation Update – Appendix C: Maps
The map “December 2011 Soldiers By ZIP Code” shows the off-post residency of Fort Carson soldiers broken down in ranges by ZIP code. The data for this information came from the December 2011 Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS).
The map “Existing and Proposed Apartment Buildings” looks at existing and proposed apartment complexes of 50 units and above. This data was compiled from various sources, including Pikes Peak Regional Building Department, Apartment Insights, and industry experts.

July 2010: Transportation Maps
PPACG continues to gather and analyze data regarding Fort Carson Soldier and family demographics and 2010 Census data, as well as regional housing, transportation, economic, and other information related to Fort Carson. As part of this effort, we are developing maps to provide GIS-based information and planning resources for the community. The map products below are atlases that provide information by zip code regarding Fort Carson Soldier and family demographics, including the numbers and age ranges of Fort Carson children living off-post. The maps provide details on the availability of the following services:
- Child Care Centers
- Family Care Providers
- Preschool Programs
- School Age Programs
- School Based Programs
- YMCA/Boys & Girls Clubs
- Headstart Programs
- Schools & School Districts
The maps also indicate whether the providers are certified by the National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies (NACCRRA), the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC), Army Child Care in Your Neighborhood (ACCYN), Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN), and/or Army School Age Programs In Your Neighborhood (ASPYN).
