Increases in the number of troops and their families to Fort Carson continue to result in significant economic impacts to the region. The Fort Carson Regional Growth Plan assesses the current and future economic and fiscal effects of Fort Carson on the region and state and identifies key statistical relationships between activities at Fort Carson (including postings and the demographics of Fort Carson personnel and families, as well as other variables) and broader outcomes in the state and region (e.g., total employment by sector, service demands and government revenues).

An Economic Development & Workforce Partnership Group meets periodically to help inform this analysis.

PPACG continues to work with Fort Carson and regional stakeholders to assess the ongoing economic impacts of Fort Carson. The below table illustrates the most recent estimates of Fort Carson’s direct impacts on the region:

Please see the Growth Plan implementation status reports for more information.

Additionally, the Phase II Economic Impact Analysis included an analysis of jobs generated by Fort Carson, as well as state and local taxes attributable to Fort Carson.
