PPACG to host regional transportation plan open house
Colorado Springs, CO–On April 19, 2011, the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments (PPACG) will host an open house to discuss future transportation and development scenarios for the Pikes Peak region. The open house will take place from noon until 7:00 p.m. in the main conference room of the PPACG Building. Park and enter at 14 South Chestnut St.
“The discussion is one step in a multi-year process to update the 2035 Regional Transportation Plan,” said Rob MacDonald, Executive Director of PPACG. “The plan is used to help prioritize how transportation dollars are spent throughout the Colorado Springs metro area.” PPACG updates the regional transportation plan every four years.
The three scenarios emphasize different potential development patterns: business-as-usual (current development), conservation, and infill. The open house provides the public an opportunity to comment on these scenarios and to participate in a funding exercise based on the following expenditure categories: operations, capacity, maintenance, and alternative modes.
