2-1-1 Data Now Available in the Network of Care for
Service Members, Veterans, and their Families
Colorado Springs, CO–The Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments and Pikes Peak United Way have joined forces to expand access to information and resources for service members, veterans, and their families in the Pikes Peak region. 2-1-1 data for El Paso and Teller counties is now included in the service directory component of the Network of Care (http://pikespeak.networkofcare.org). The service directory includes more than 1,500 local resources to assist the military community and others in accessing information ranging from crisis and emergency services, child and family resources, behavioral health providers, recreational services, military and veteran-specific resources, and much, much more.
PPACG launched the Network of Care in May 2011 as part of ongoing efforts to implement recommendations of the Fort Carson Regional Growth Plan. This public service site brings together critical information for the entire veterans' community, including veterans, family members, active-duty personnel, reservists, members of the National Guard, employers, service providers, and the community at large.
“PPACG is pleased to partner with Pikes Peak United Way to provide enhanced services for our region. This collaboration is a win-win for the region, providing critical information and resources to meet the needs of service members, veterans, their families, and the community as a whole,” said Robert MacDonald, Executive Director of the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments (PPACG).
“PPUW is likewise proud of its ongoing partnership with PPACG and pleased to enhance it via this collaborative effort,” says Pikes Peak United Way President/CEO JD Dallager. “As a veteran myself, knowing the sacrifices our service members and their families make, anything our community can do to support them only serves to strengthen the “bond of family” that we’ve shared throughout the decades.”
The Network of Care, developed by Trilogy Integrated Resources, Inc., provides highly interactive information and resources for consumers, local governments, and community-based providers. Resources include a searchable service directory, links to key websites, a comprehensive library, legislative information, a community calendar and message boards, and much more.

PPACG is a voluntary association of 16 municipal and county governments serving a regional community that encompasses El Paso County, Teller County, and parts of Pueblo and Fremont counties. Since 1967, PPACG has worked to ensure that local governments have a forum to discuss issues that cross their political boundaries, identify shared opportunities and challenges, and develop collaborative strategies for action.
PPUW is a community-based, independently governed nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a local safety net for basic needs and to addressing issues today to prevent future problems. This is accomplished through such programs as 2-1-1 Information and Referral- the free, confidential, multilingual three-digit phone number that connects those in need with the resources they require.
