In 2016 PPACG Area Agency on Aging fielded 9,688 calls and walk-in clients seeking information about senior services. PPACG serves as the state-designated Area Agency on Aging for El Paso, Park and Teller counties. The agency administers programs and services funded through the federal Older Americans Act and the State of Colorado to give older adults what they most desire—the ability to live independently in their own homes and avoid costly institutionalization. About the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments
The Pikes Peak region’s 16 local governments join together in PPACG to collaborate on issues that cross political boundaries and to reach solutions that benefit the entire region. PPACG administers the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority and provides direct services to citizens through the PPACG Area Agency on Aging and the State Health Insurance Assistance Program. PPACG is also the region’s designated Metropolitan Planning Organization for transportation and its air- and water-quality lead planning agency.
