Individuals approaching retirement can enroll in a free webinar to help sort through their benefit options and ask questions on common topics during the Pikes Peak Area Agency on Aging’s Social Security 101 session. The webinar will take place at 4 p.m., Feb. 13, 2023.
Josh Weller, a public affairs specialist with the Social Security Administration, will address questions including benefits calculations, eligibility factors, application process and provide an overview of the different benefits Social Security administrators. The class will cover many of the common retirement topics including:
- Eligibility for retirement
- How age impacts retirement benefits
- How work impacts retirement benefits
- How non-covered pensions, like PERA, can potentially impact retirement and survivor benefits.
